What They Say
"a thoroughly professional troupe" ---
Neville Roach - Chairman & CEO - Fujitsu Australia
Dawn Pointon; Director – Conference Events
Prior to starting DaPo Conference Events, Dawn was a gypsy in London's East End. It was then that she discovered her gift of the gab, and moved on to star in a range of musicals and theatrical productions, including her leading role in the birth of her 2 children. Moving to Australia was one of the more traumatic events in her life, as she left her passport, tickets and money on top of the fridge. Apart from causing chaos in the office with her unique organisational handicaps, she is best known for her violent emotional outbursts, and her motto of 'Let's party'. Dawn is the creative driving force behind DaPo, and her love of fun, (and good looking men) see her dabbling in all sorts of new ventures.
David Pointon; Managing Director
David Pointon is the control freak behind DaPo, and first became interested in running his own business when on-selling tickets to his Year 8 Cello recital. From humble beginnings as a country bumpkin in Adelaide, and still with straw behind his ears, he set off around the world in pursuit of some of the big answers in life. Having found those in a small mountain village in Italy, he soon discovered his talent at convincing people to do rash things when he proposed to his wife at 2.00 am one morning. David's main claim to fame at DaPo is nothing. In fact, he gets in the way of many good ideas by insisting on excel spreadsheets, and racks up huge company expenses in speeding fines and office re-decoration.
Liza Koning ; Event Co-ordinator
Liza discovered her talents in organisation when she took over the administration of her primary school at age 7 after revealing key process inefficiencies.
Having mastered the art of getting other people to do things for her during her years as a Girl Guide Leader, Liza moved in to politics, but then realised the campaigning clashed with her nail sculpting appointments.
She now runs DaPo, whilst keeping the directors happy in the belief that they do. Don't bother calling Liza, as she will be 3 steps ahead of you, and will have already done it.
A Cast of Thousands
Murray Stanton
Our longest serving, most versatile cast member, Murray has performed with hundreds of DaPo events from our very first A Meeting with Murder™. Muz's recollections include being moved on by poice in Wynard Park when playing Micky Scrachit and the adrenaline rush of posing as a bus hostage along the Pacific Highway.
Anne McClenahan
Annie has the best leg's in town, and they have been draped across many a lap. Annie's quick wit keeps the crowd on their toes, and she has outfoxed the sharpest tongues in the corporate world. Annie's performances as Susan Aloof, the drunken bus tour guide have been supreme solo acts, and her Bunnies, Bonnies, and Broads are all colourful characters.
Marc Kay
It is dangerous travelling through airports with Marc. His outbursts unsettle the most experienced of air stewards. Having explored most characters in his career of over 100 stage shows, it's quite likely Marc has played you at sometime. He is a well known face with his advertising work, recognised most recently as the stomach behind Virgin
Cathy Breadner
If Cathy has ever put you in your place, you remember it. Which is why her characters such as the wonderful Edna Heavers always keep the crowd on edge.Cathy has delivered some tremendous performances on stage, most recently as Olive in the Odd Couple.
John Macvean
Think of Big Bird crossed with Van Helsing, and you are getting close to picturing Foxy. Although Foxy played by John is not something you picture, it's more an experience. Sort of like trying to describe one of the seven natural wonders of the world, as compared to being there. The many great moments with John include his collection of 80 ties at the Christmas party function, and the many poor bastards he has singled out and danced to. Good luck if it is you.
Sam Cowles
Sam's portrayal of Bond in the hit movie series The Milko with the Golden Run is acclaimed by many as superior to the other Oz bond, George Lazenby. Sam tries to keep the crowd in control with his portrayals as Policeman, however, his mullet wig when Billy Bob has the reverse effect, sending all the woman into a 'beatlemania' style frenzy.
